playing party dress up

Yesterday moseyman and I house-hopped, eating 2 different Thanksgiving dinners, and needless to say by the end of the night we were absolutely stuffed. But this morning I woke up with a revived feeling – the kind you get after having good, quality meeting time with new friends.

I’m looking forward to going home soon for more holiday festivities and older friends, and was thinking how fun it is to get all dressed up for those end-of-the-year night-outs. What about you… any party plans this holiday season? Are you a party-thrower or party-attender?

Here’s to playing party dress-up.

scarf weather

Once the scarves start popping up in stores around fall time, I find it difficult not to buy them all. They’re so easy to wear and can add such color and spark to an outfit. Today I’m loving this butterfly scarf from textile/scarf designer, Kelly Massey of Pretty Penny.

colorpop monday

Oh my industrial chic prettiness! Isn’t this such a beautiful space? I’m in love with those seafoam colored dining chairs mixed with the natural wood table. Found on The Beautiful Soup.

And while we’re on amazing color pops, check out this foyer. I’m filing this one in the foyer-to-be books. Found on Tenacious Dee.

the red bear

In an effort to get a little more art on our walls, I just ordered this red bear print from Banquet Atelier & Workshop. Pretty excited about it!

I like the white frame too. But since we’re on a budget, I’m hoping we can find one at Ikea for cheap.

potted pine

Ever since I saw this little potted pine tree on Lena Corwin’s blog last year, I’ve been dreaming about having one of my own come holiday time.

Well it’s holiday time and so you can imagine my happiness when I strolled through the farmers market in Union Square this morning and found the cutest potted pine that will add some much needed life to our wintry apartment. We already have some lights to string around it, but I love how Lena also hung these cute handmade ornaments.

the sweater dress

I like the idea of a throwing on a cozy sweater dress for a romantic Sunday brunch, but always see styles that don’t seem easy to pull off – like the oversized sweater or something. These three sweater dresses however, look totally doable. What do you think? Do you own a sweater dress? Is it easy to wear?
