hail to the raspberry

My favorite fruit is the raspberry. It satisfies me when I’m craving a sweet and, in tea form, it surprisingly soothes my belly and my head when I’m enduring the monthly pains of being a woman. It’s all I can think of at this moment and I’m just feeling strangely thankful. Please excuse my weird post. Is there anything that soothes you so much?

online gulf relief market

I spent a large portion of my life growing up on the Gulf of Mexico, only 1 mile from the beach. Naturally, I (like most people) am devastated by BP’s oil disaster. I love that poppytalk is hosting an online Gulf relief market, where each participating vendor donates an item to be sold and proceeds go towards helping with relief in the Gulf. And to top it all off, the items on the market are brilliant! Here are just a few of my faves:

pink diamond ring - $85 birch beer boutique

wooden stool - $32 bellalulu vintage

metal basket - $38 bellalulu vintage

save our gulf tee - $22 letterhappy

life & the before picture

Since Moseyman left a couple of weeks ago to finish his film in the Middle East (Israel), I’ve been a bit mopey. Aside from sleeping a lot, having long strange conversations with the dog (at home and in public) and baking more than I ever have, I haven’t really “accomplished” anything. I have this beautiful apartment that I need to home-ify and I can’t seem to push myself out the door to get that done. I also need to find a new apartment to BUY! Well it’s now the end of my weekend (I work Sundays through Thursdays because I work for an Israeli company) and I have nothing to show for it. I’m officially creating a public agenda to pressure myself into completing a project. I’ll keep it light though:

1) find fabric to recover the couch with
2) buy fabric
3) buy pillow inserts and make colorful couch pillows

And now to really add the pressure, here’s my couch before pic. As you can see, it also needs re-foaming. We shipped this all the way from our place in Israel so I have no choice but to revive it!

workin safari

I plan to visit the Middle East in the next month or 2 and am already preparing myself for the intense dry heat there (although NYC is beastly hot right now so it’s not too hard to imagine). How about some travel safari looks to pack?

I love this zip up safari romper

a beautiful train ride

Each time I visit the new arrivals at Le Train Bleu, I feel a wave of fresh air and inspiration: crochet wrapped hoops, pineapple drops, crisp high-waisted shorts, a roll-sleeved plaid, a plaid with a tie, and the perfect, chloe-esque peg trousers.

for the guys…

While browsing around “guys” fashion today I saw a lot of puffy high tops, gadgets, and colorful watches, but not too much in between. A bit more searching though and I did manage to find a few things I liked. Have you noticed anything inspiring in the guy fashion world?

giant windows

My dream living room:
(I can picture myself lounging out on the couch staring out those big beautiful windows.)
