You know those nights where you sit and explore old photographs you’ve taken throughout the different phases of your life? Well tonight is one of those nights for me and I thought I would share some of those photos with you.
As challenging as my time was in Tel Aviv, there are things about it that I will always remember and hold dear to my heart.
Through all of Israel’s controversy I never felt comfortable publicly posting about it or my life there, in my blog. Now I have a different perspective and I think that it’s important to show different sides to different places, even if you don’t agree with what the government does. After all, I lived there for 3 years. So here are some photos that were taken in Tel Aviv during that period…

Imagine stumbling across this place in your apartment search? Imagine how the view looks at night? At sunset? On snow days? In the rain? Shall I go on? (via apartment diet)
The romantic in me says: move all that furniture out and have just a beautiful bed in there!
But then I see the rest of the place… gasp!

I’m growing quite used to this daily NYC rain shower (feels like Florida summer storms except colder). But it has been the same routine when I’m walking out the door, for too long now: put green wellies on, grab cardi, slip green hooded army jacket on and pick a bag. I would love to switch it up a little. Loving this raincoat from Marimekko.

How’s everyone’s weekend going? I’m proud to say that mine is going unusually productively. Took a long 10am walk with the dog then subwayed over to Whole Foods for a fun grocery shop. I’ve decided to pick up at least one new item each time I food shop now so to encourage new cooking and eating habits… my meals pretty much consist of beans and rice and pasta. Eh.. I had a yummy noon snack though. Ignore the pathetic looking slices of gouda and smeared jam job, it tasted amazing:
Then I bought a new toilet seat and switched out the ugly old squooshy one (very glamorous I know but I never thought I could love a new toilet seat so much!), upgraded the shower curtain AND rubbed tung oil on our walnut coffee table so that it looks brand spankin new! woohoo! I’ll spare you the toilet seat but here’s a peek at my beaming coffee table:
And here’s what dinner’s starting to look like:

Yesterday I bought some new orange-popsicle colored nail polish and applied it after a failed pale pink polish test run. Surprisingly, the orange looked pretty awesome! And now… I seem to be attracted to all things orange.

Yesterday the dog and I had a lovely walk through the neighborhood. At noon we stopped for bagels and cream cheese, came back to eat two of them for lunch, then we headed over to the waterfront pier before sunset to do things like gaze at the Manhattan skyline and listen to the saxophone player in the distance. I love the waterfront area… it seems to be the only place that feels truly peaceful around these parts.
In other news, Moseyman and I bought our very first TV! What a luxury. We’ve always watched TV and movies on our laptops so this is a real treat. It even makes a fancy sound when you turn it on and off. And since Moseyman is away at the moment I’m enjoying some ‘me’ time curling up on the couch and watching chick flicks (like Working Girl) on the BIG screen. Hope you’re having a great weekend!
