heralding maude

While lingering on, I came across these super cute Maude shoes. The first thing I thought was “Uh Oh!” You see, I already purchased those magical dolce vita sandals, but these maudes are also magical! BUT… too expensive for me. This is when I need to just carefully close the web page and return to something simple and civilized like BBC news.

sophie’s sequins

Sequins always remind me of my old dancing costumes from my pantomime days in England. Although I was only 4 or 5 years old, I can still remember (with the help of some old family photos), those spandex catsuits with the big, hand-sewn sequins. They were like gigantic, beautiful, orbs of sparkle. So when I saw Sophie Hulme’s S/S 09 collection with all the pink and gold hand-sewn sequins, I was immediately taken back in time… *flashback to dark stage, bright lights, pensive expression and me doing a perfect gymnast’s split*

You can buy some sequiny Sophie at Pixiemarket.

my train to mociun

Holy crap. I just discovered today. This shop is a rare bird. Pretty much all the merch is beautiful and quirky. Lucky for my bank account, their amazing apparel has limits on their available sizes (the Fox in Mociun Dolman Dress only comes in a M/L and I’m a XS/S). Anyone know where I can find this dress in my size?

Philip Lim in the spring

From Holiday 08 to Spring 09, Phillip Lim’s collection continues onward with the same beautifully structured shapes, only on a much paler color palette. He intertwines metallic threads inside faint hues of pink, blue and cream. The spring collection is of course much lighter, much airier than the previous season, and it shows a subtle transformation to warm, modern fluidity. Ruffles become more like beach waves and his marching band jacket that was once so stunningly red is mimicked this time in a fresh, stark white and metallic gold vest. I would love to own this piece in either color. But that would mean I would have to magic up about $600.

A.P.C it’s easy as 1,2,3

I’ve been a big fan of A.P.C. for a few years now. I think they tie in with that whole simple but elegant Parisian-chic look I’ve come to admire. Jean Touitou’s designs haven’t budged much throughout time and there’s something both refreshing and aggravating about that. Does that make sense? Refreshing, when it’s a great piece, aggravating, when it translates to boring. But for the most part, I’m enjoying his Spring 09 collection. There are these fantastic free-feeling vacation pieces in rich warm hues which I can easily fantasize prancing around in, while munching on an over-sized baguette. Here are some looks I would definitely covet.

sneaky spring sneakers

I bought these sneakers last year and I’m buying them again this year. Even though they only last about 2 months and they have soles as thin and fragile as old men’s bones, they are beautiful in their European-like simplicity. Last year I sported these overdyed canvas skips in yellow, this year I’m going for the stripes… oh, and an extra pair in fushia, so that these shoes might last me until winter. They’re quite cheap in price (as they should be) and their light step make you feel like a ninja. Urban Outfitters sells them in many more sweet colors.
