Happy New Year folks! I wish everyone a new year of happy love, wishful thinking, big steps, brag worthy accomplishments and good health.
Here’s a dress that has nothing to do with December 31, 2009… just a pretty little thing to prance about the new year in:

Yesterday I got back from my holiday trip and found (in addition to an excited dog and a loving moseyman) a sweet little package that arrived for me in the mail. Inside was a hot pink, oversized, pocket notebook with a really funny slogan printed modestly across the cover page: “SHOPAHOLICS I MET AND LIKED.”
My favorite thing about this hardback notebook is how thick, yet subtly textured the creamy blank pages are; perfect for dark quality ink that won’t run through to the other side. Thank you Archie Grand!

Like I blogged before, I’m not into the full-on lace look, makes me feel like an old lady. But I’m kind of digging the lace details on these numbers… especially this first ivory number with the secret zip lace compartment:
Shopping: Silence and Noise lace zip back tee, jumper playsuit Johann lace top dress, saloon trim cardi

After a long, snowy journey home and an 8 hour sleep behind me, I’m wide awake at 5am. These jolts of colorful winter accessories are making it impossible to get back to sleep. Wanting that laptop case to impress those security folk at the airport for the trip back, heh… But for the next ten, moseymanless days at home with the family, I plan on watching sugar-plum fairies dance in my niece’s head, eating lots of chocolate biscuits, burritos, bagels and home cooked food, shopping with my mum (something that hasn’t been done in years!) and of course, opening presies! Anyone else jet lagged?
Shopping: purple apc saddle bag, manu straws necklace, henrik vibskov laptop case, henrik vibskov socks

Going home for the holidays in a week’s time has got me fantasizing about vanning around the USA… through the desert, up the west coast and back over the mid west. I’ve decided to create getup installments of a winter fantasy tour. Here’s the first installment, The Desert Sequence:
Shopping: rome frames, blackbird necklace, spitalfields belted coat, blue corduroy dress, tassled ikat scarf, english satchel.

If you’d like to shop consciously this holiday season, try Patagonia. This fantastic outdoor clothing company takes econciousness to the next level. Here are just a FEW of the programs they initiated or currently take part in (see more here):
Freedom to Roam: Currently Patagonia’s priority environmental campaign. Its goal is to create, restore and protect “wildways” or corridors between habitats so animals can survive
Conservacion Patagonica: A long-term effort by the company and its employees to create a new national park in (where else?) Patagonia, Chile
Common Threads: A garment recycling program where certain fabrics can be returned to the company for recycling
Organic Exchange: A non-profit organization committed to expanding organic agriculture, with a specific focus on increasing the production and use of organically grown fibers such as cotton.
Most of their garb is puffy jacket related for skiing and whatnot, but they actually have some sweet and colorfully cozy socks, long johns, tees (all made from either chlorine free wool or 100% organic cotton).
Here’s my Green Gifts under $50 Roundup:
Shopping: stripy socks, organic cotton Gaucho tee, organic & recyclable live simply tee, turquoise long johns,
